I’m about to set up a trial for the newsletter. If you are subscribed to this via email, I would like to transfer your email to the new service. If you do NOT want to move to the new service, please unsubscribe.
The difference?
On your end there shouldn’t really be a difference except it will come from a mailerlite email service for Lynn Michaels rather than Rubiconwriting.
On my end, I hope it will be easier to manager so I can send out good content. I want to send updates, new releases, announcements, and guest posts from other authors, but I don’t want to be spammy.
Deadline?
I need you to unsubscribe if you want out today or tomorrow. I’m sending the first tester on Friday – Nov 1.
IF you want to be in the newsletter, you don’t need to do anything except wait for the mailer on Friday – please open it when you receive it. The service is going to be checking my response rate.
I want to give everyone a heads-up on this. I’ll be making changes to this site over the few days and weeks…
One major change will be the name of the site. So, don’t be surprised when Rubicon goes away and you see something more Lynn Michaels branded.
I’m also going to change to a new newsletter service. That means a lot of the content will be delivered via email instead of a blog format. If you do not already subscribe via email, please consider doing so. I don’t want to lose anyone!
If you have any questions as I transition this site – please feel free to reach out to me at:

Please join us here Friday at noon PST for the Cover Reveal for “See Me.”
Coming early 2020 See Me For Raphe Lombardi, life hasn’t been easy.
Permanently disfigured by a car crash at the age of nine that claimed the lives of his parents, set him on a never ending path of doctors and painful procedures.
“Never judge a book by its cover, Il mio piccolo,” Aunt Sophia would always say, tapping the space above her heart. “Trust what’s inside. Even beauty sometimes has an evil lurking beneath.” Over the years her nickname for me, my little one, was shorted to mio. Calling me little when I now towered over her five foot frame by more than fourteen inches making it even more adorable to hear her say.
Is it best to see someone for who they truly are, or is it safer to hide in the shadows and avoid risking it all?

In
the midst of a battle for leadership at their Ojibway community, two enemies of
opposing families fall in love…
After suffering a humiliating divorce, infuriated Catholic Jude Matawapit
bolts to his family’s Ojibway community to begin a new job—but finds himself thrown into a battle for chief as his brother-in-law’s campaign manager. The radical Kabatay clan, with their extreme ideas about traditional Ojibway life, will stop at nothing to claim the leadership position and rid the reserve of Western culture and its religion once and for all, which threatens not only the non-traditional people of the community, but Jude’s chance at a brand-new life he’s creating for his children.
Recovering
addict Raven Kabatay will do anything to win the respect and trust of her older
siblings and mother after falling deep into drug addiction that brought shame
and anger to her family. Not only does she have the opportunity to redeem
herself by becoming her brother’s campaign manager for chief—if he wins, she’ll
have the reserve’s backing to purchase the gold-mine diner where she works,
finally making something of herself. But falling in love with the family’s
sworn enemy—the deacon’s eldest son, Jude—will not just betray the Kabatay
clan. It could destroy everything Raven believes in and has worked so hard for.
An Ojibway from Northwestern Ontario, Maggie resides in the country with her husband and their fur babies, two beautiful Alaskan Malamutes. When she’s not writing, she can be found pulling weeds in the flower beds, mowing the huge lawn, walking the Mals deep in the bush, teeing up a ball at the golf course, fishing in the boat for walleye, or sitting on the deck at her sister’s house, making more wonderful memories with the people she loves most.
I’ve
yet to meet an author who didn’t love to read.
I love reading. Because writing
doesn’t allow me much free time, I read before I go to sleep. What do I read?
I’ll
start with the late Ojibway author Richard Wagamese. He was a writer of fiction and
non-fiction. One if his novels, Indian
Horse, was made into a movie. Of
course I read the book and LOVED it. But
I’ve yet to see the movie, although I did purchase the DVD. If you want a look into Canada’s Indian
Residential Schools, and the suffering the Indigenous people faced at the hands
of the Canadian government (The Matawapit Family Series explores the
impact the schools left on their communities), then Indian Horse is the
book for you.
Another author I enjoy is Rosanne Bittner who takes me into America’s Old West. She is quite prolific. Her Mystic series is my favourite. I’m always hunting down books starring Indigenous heroines, and the series focusses on the Lakota. There are three books in total, and each one is wonderfully crafted.
My
guilty pleasure is memoirs by rock ‘n’ roll groupies, girlfriends, and
wives. The latest in my TBR pile is Cherry
on Top by Bobbie Brown (the video vixen from Warrant’s Cherry Pie
video). I read Bobbie’s first book, Dirty
Rocker Boys, and loved what she had to say.
So, I’m looking forward to digging into her latest book.
I
also love rock ‘n’ roll memoirs, autobiographies, and biographies. My top books would be The Heroin Diaries
by Nikki Sixx of Motely Crue, Red by Sammy Hagar, My Life with Deth
by David Ellefson of Megadeth, and Heaven and Hell by Don Felder,
formerly of The Eagles.
I
also enjoy dark m/m romance. I recently
finished reading Rise of a Nobleman by Valentina C. Brinn and LOVED
it. I even reviewed her book at my
blog. And when I say dark, I mean this
is a dark, dark, super-dark romance. I
also read the first two books in Sai Fox’s The Valentino Family
series. These are wonderfully told from
the POV of the right-hand man. I can
hardly wait to read the third book.
Historical romance ranks at the top of my reading list. Historical romance is what introduced me to the romance genre. Of course I idolize Johanna Lindsey, the grand dame of historical romance, but there are many up and coming authors I also enjoy. I won’t go into which authors or I’ll be here all day writing this post LOL.
Please join me tonight at 7 pm Eastern US timezone. I’ll be taking over the Facebook group – Book Carousel for eXtasybooks.com. I’ll talk about upcoming releases and play some games and #giveaways!
