Andi James and Lila Wilde

Here to share their new release Teddy & His Bear

Teddy and his Bear Teaser 2 300 dpiOn July 24, 2018, Andi and Lila decided to start an endeavor to follow their hearts and write a book in the genre they loved to read. Almost three months to the day later, Teddy & His Bear was published.

They decided to work together, instead of as solo writers for their first book, as a way of having a constant partner to lean on as they learned the ins and outs of writing, marketing, and self-publishing.

“There is no way I’d have ever done this without Lila, and I’ll be thanking her forever for it. She’s a fantastic writing partner and a great support system. I love that she loves our characters just as much as I do. Having her to bounce ideas around with and look over my writing and so many other things has been invaluable.”  ~Andi James

“I cannot imagine doing any of this without Andi. We talk almost all day every day about our characters and new book ideas. We are learning the ropes together – I have someone to groan with me about deadlines, cheer me on when I write something great, and celebrate with me when we accomplish milestones. Our collaboration gave Teddy to the world, but gave an amazing friendship to me.” ~Lila Wilde

Teddy & His Bear is a 90K word slow-burn, May/December, Daddy kink MM romance featuring one hot Daddy, his sweet new boy, coffee, and unicorns.

At twenty-four, Teddy should be used to feeling abandoned and unwanted. After all, he’s been dealing with it most of his life. But a recent breakup takes him completely by surprise and now he’s on his own again. Nursing new and old hurts, he leans on his makeshift family and finds solace in a growing and unexpected friendship with an older man.

Forty-two-year-old Barrett has successfully ignored his biggest need for years. His last boy left him questioning everything he knew, and he is determined to lead a vanilla life, no matter how much his friends try to convince him to be true to himself. When he learns his favorite barista needs a new place to stay, he offers a solution that leads to spending more time with the younger man.

A change in circumstances brings both men together and their buried feelings to light. Teddy knows he’s attracted to Barrett but isn’t sure if he’s ready to risk his heart again, and Barrett is losing the struggle against his dominant nature. Will learning Barrett’s sexy secret be too much for Teddy, or is it just the thing he never knew he needed?

Excerpt:Teddy and his Bear Teaser 3 300 dpi

(Our second MC Barrett is talking to a friend who is trying to convince him he needs to get back into the kink scene after an absence.)

Jason rolled his eyes. “Barrett, all of this vanilla dating is winding you so tight. You need to find another boy. You need to—”

“This vanilla dating is fine,” he interrupted. “It’s fine.” Barrett wondered if he was trying to convince Jason or himself. He suspected neither of them were fooled.

“Oh really?” Jason raised an eyebrow. “So, meeting men on eHarmony or what-the-fuck-ever is really doing it for you?”

Barrett rolled his eyes. “It’s not eHarmony.” Jason took a step toward Barrett, a bit of challenge in his eyes. “So, the whole time you’re out with Mr. Vanilla Accountant or whoever, you’re not wishing it was a beautiful, obedient twink sitting across from you?”

Barrett shifted his weight but didn’t look away from Jason’s stare as he took another step closer.

“And when you’re listening to him drone on about pocket protectors or his trip to the Grand Canyon, you aren’t imaging that same gorgeous twink smiling and laughing, looking at you like you hung the moon?” Jason’s eyes blazed brighter. His next step brought him right up in Barrett’s face. “And when you’re in the back of his minivan while Mr. Vanilla fumbles around, giving you a sloppy blowjob, you don’t close your eyes and pretend it’s that amazing, sexy, funny, adorable baby boy at your feet with his hot mouth wrapped around your cock?” Jason licked his lips and lowered his voice even more. “On his knees for his Daddy?”

“No.” Barrett wasn’t sure he said the word out loud. He cleared his throat. “No, I don’t.” He shook his head. “That’s not what I want anymore.”

Jason lowered his gaze to Barrett’s obvious erection tenting the front of his trousers. Jason looked up at Barrett and grinned, showing off his brilliant and infuriating smile. “Yeah, okay. Whatever you say.”

Barrett narrowed his eyes and Jason chuckled. “Come on, Daddy. Let’s go get some dinner.”

Interview with Jo Tannah – Thanks for stopping by Rubiconwriting!

Hi! Thanks for having me here.

Let’s jump right in…

What is the first book that made you cry?

Hmm…oh wow. I’ve read a lot of books, but the one title that comes immediately to mind is Where The Red Fern Grows. I love dogs and when I read that I kind of just lost it.

Does writing energize or exhaust you?

It depends. There are some scenes which need to be written and I don’t like to write them, but I am forced to otherwise the plot hole would be too glaring—those exhaust me. Scenes that are fun and show interaction between the characters are easy peasy so they kind of energize me.

What is your writing Kryptonite?

Procrastination. I sometimes think of one scene before writing it and then I fall into second and third, even fourth or fifth guessing myself, changing the scene several times. I end up not writing it because I get lost in the analysis of what or what not to include.

What other authors are you friends with, and how do they help you become a better writer?

I’m pretty close to a few, including you if I can say that here? 😀 How do they help me? Well, sometimes I get lost, as I’ve already said and I need to unload or simply discuss a scene or a situation. You guys help me regain the focus and that, for me, is the essential most important role you play.

What was the best money you ever spent as a writer?

This one’s easy: my laptop.

What do you owe the real people upon whom you base your characters?the_Hunt_3D_.png

Hmm…I guess I owe them their perseverance? All my characters are based on real people, dead and alive, and I always wondered how they found the strength to go on. I may write about them, but growing up, I kind of idolized them for they taught me a great deal about how to just deal.

What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

This depends on the type of story I am writing. For my horror stories, like The Hunt and Hidden Series, I spent a lot of time researching the settings. For The Hunt, I already knew the story way back when I was a child for this is a story told me as a child. Of course, Marcus Kildud and his men are fiction, but the situation with the salamanders and the horrors they faced in the forest, 90% of that is based on the original story. The feathered snake is just an added fiction bonus.

How many hours a day do you write?

Again, this depends on the mood and what I have to face in real life. When I write, I usually close my door and don’t allow the real world to come in. It took me just one week to write The Hunt. Maybe less. That’s because I already knew the story, as I’ve mentioned before. Constantly getting interrupted can derail the writing process. So if I’m in the mood, I’ll say about 12 to 18 hours. If I’m not in the mood, an hour, at most. Sometimes, I go for days or weeks without writing anything.

What did you edit out of this book?

There were these redundancies that, on this second edition, I finally figured didn’t have to be there. Nothing profound.

What was your hardest scene to write?

Setting up the erotic scenes between Marcus and Malik. I won’t say why hehheheee 😀

No spoilers!  Haha! Thanks again for joining us!

23318724_140662806660646_112395653_n-215x215I grew up listening to folk tales my father and nannies told either to entertain us children or to send home a message. These narratives I kept with me and finally, I wrote them down in a journal way back when I kept one. Going through junk led to a long forgotten box and in it was the journal. Reading the stories of romance, science fiction and horror I had taken time to put to paper, brought to light that these were tales I never met in my readings.

The tales I write are fictional but all of them are based on what I grew up with and still dream about. That they have an M/M twist is simply for my pleasure. And I hope, yours as well.

My Kind Of Man – AG Silver

No one else catches my eye, so I finish my drink. Another wasted evening. Maybe I’m just not what men want in a little one. Placing my glass on the bar, I swivel back to the main room, resigned to go home. There, standing only a couple of feet away, is the hot daddy. He watches me intently, his dark brown eyes roaming my body.

“I hope you’re not leaving,” he states as he gets closer.

I swallow hard and instinctively lower my eyes. “Um…yes, Sir, I was about to,” I stammer, sounding a complete dork.

“That’s a shame.” He shakes his head. “I was about to offer you a drink.”

“O…Oh, I…I guess I can stay.” I stumble over my words but manage to smile shyly.

“Excellent. Would you like to join me at my table? My companion has left and I, too, am alone.” When he holds out his hand, I let him clasp mine. Fireworks shooting up my arm make me gasp as my eyes catch his. I choke at the sensation, and my face floods with heat as I blush.

“What would you like to drink?” he asks as he contemplates my reactions to him. “Or would you rather I choose for you?” A simple question, but it seems to imply so much more.

“I’ll let you decide,” I answer quietly.

I wait as he speaks to the bartender who nods and smiles.

“Come along. He’ll have them brought over.” His hand releases mine, only to move to my back. With a soft, but firm hand, he touches the inch of bare skin between my pants and my T-shirt, setting the nerves in my body alight. Will he feel what else I’m wearing? Will he like it? Then his hand travels farther south, onto my bottom. He hesitates for a fraction of a second and then pats it gently. I know he’s happy with what he felt.

We sink down on a dark red, plush velvet seat. It’s a good job I’m small. There is no way we would’ve fit otherwise. The image of me sitting on his knee flashes in my head, and it’s so real I stifle a moan of need. Turning to face me, his eyes blazing as he acknowledges the slight sound, he takes hold of my hand again.

“My name is Callum. What’s yours?” he asks gently. I think he’s trying not to frighten me off.

“Um, Michael.” My voice is soft, breathless, as he looks me over. Flushing again, I duck my head.

“It’s lovely to meet you, Michael. I don’t think I’ve seen you here before.”

“No, this is my first time.”★☆★GIVEAWAY ★☆★

The models came and went. They auditioned, shared their portfolios and answered some of the questions Aidan asked. Some did impress him quite a lot, but somewhere his mind still compared them with the guy he’d bumped into earlier leaving him inexplicably with utter disappointment.

When the last guy had left, he watched as Kim’s head appeared through the half-open door. Kimberly Hobbs had worked for him for the past two years as his personal secretary. Ever since the beginning, they had bonded so well Kim knew exactly what Aidan wanted and it almost always got done before he could even tell her. She was in her mid-thirties and a mother of two, but she looked younger than his twenty seven years. Her blood red lipstick and brown hair tied up in a tight bun was the usual signature style she flaunted every single day.

“Do you know a Mr. Pattinson? I never saw him in any of your appointments, so I thought I’d ask.”

“Pattinson?” Aidan racked his brain to put any familiar face to that name but nothing came up. “No, why?”

“There’s a guy here. He says his name is Rick Mahoney and that Mr. Pattinson sent him for the interview.”

Aidan had no clue who Rick Mahoney was or a Mr. Pattinson for that matter. None of the names rang any bells. He made a hand gesture signaling Kim to let him in. “I might as well meet him and see if I can remember anything.” He told her and waited.

Kim moved aside and held the door open for Rick. “Mr. Mahoney, my boss will see you now.”

A familiar face came into view as Rick entered, wheeling his chair inside the room and Kim closed the door to give them some privacy. Aidan couldn’t help the grin that appeared on his face. Of course, he’d recognized this man. Not because he knew who Mr. Pattinson was – but Rick was the same guy he’d met earlier that day. “Hey, you’re the guy on the wrong floor.” He said it as a matter of fact. “Didn’t think we’d meet again so soon.” It was a pleasant surprise.

Rick seemed surprised too and a bit intimidated. “I’m sorry, Mr. Gilbert. I didn’t realize it was you who I ran into earlier.”

“Gilbert?” Aidan laughed. “I’m not Mr Gilbert. My name’s Aidan Ross and I’m an artist. I was interviewing male models here for my next set of paintings. I’m guessing you are here for that too?”

“No, no, no…” The color had drained from Rick’s face. “I’m not a model. I think I must have come to the wrong interview.” Aidan tried to concentrate on the words as Rick rambled on but his nervousness amused him more. He’s so cute. “Mr. Pattinson is the hotel manager and I came here for the bookkeeper’s job at the hotel. He told me I’d be interviewed by Mr. Gilbert on the tenth floor. I came here looking for him and I saw this lady talking to one guy about his interview. I assumed she was talking about Mr. Gilbert’s interview, so I asked and she brought me here to see you.” Ha! What are the odds? “I’m really sorry for the confusion, Mr. Ross. I didn’t mean to bother you.”

Aidan waved his hand dismissively and smiled. “No bother at all!”

Rick shook his head, refusing to look Aidan in the eye. “I’m sure you’ve loads of errands to run. I’ll get out of your way.”

“Hey, wait!” Aidan called out as Rick was about to turn, the suddenness astounded him. Aidan chuckled. “Don’t you think it’s amazing?”

“That we meet again so soon.” Aidan replied with the excitement he felt within him. “I mean I’ve wanted to see you again so badly. I knew it was totally impossible for us to run into each other again. And yet, here you are. I still can’t believe it!”

Rick furrowed his brows. “Why did you want to see me again?” He asked.

“Because I like you.” He said without any hesitation.

“Yes, I love the way you look. You are a specimen of male beauty in its rarest form.” Aidan grinned.

Rick’s face flushed. “That’s enough.”

“Look, I’m an artist and I don’t want to see such beauty going unnoticed. I want to paint you. I want to put you on my canvas and show it to the world.” He realized he was leaning over the desk too much and sat up straightening the slim tie he wore. “So will you let me? Draw you?”

Exclusive Excerpt (some blogs ask for this)

The house suddenly felt empty as he shut the front door behind the man and he wondered where Rick might be. The last place he’d seen him was in the living room and then he’d disappeared. Bratty was nowhere to be found either. Mr. Butler had brought her back just before Mr. Wesley had arrived again that afternoon and ever since then it seemed, she’d disappeared back to the corner she’d found to hide herself from the world.

Evening light coming through the undraped window panes gently illuminated the rooms. He checked both the bedrooms and found them as empty as the living room. He looked into the bathrooms too but they remained vacant. While on his way to check the backyard, Aidan peeped into the kitchen as well.

When he didn’t find either of them in the backyard, Aidan began to get worried. The only room in his house he hadn’t checked was his art studio.

The sight in his art studio was picturesque. In his wheelchair, Rick sat by the window while Bratty rested on his lap. They both looked serene, though a little sad too, as they looked out of the window. The setting sun threw its soft light on the two, which cast their shadows behind them on the floor. Aidan stood by the door mesmerized by the beauty and depth of the scene. He could feel the emotions inside that room quite strongly.

He hadn’t realized until then that Rick and Bratty had both gone through mid-life crises which although obviously different in their own ways, they probably both shared the same emotions at that moment. Hurt, anger, pain, sadness and grief.

In each other’s company, Rick and the cat both felt a sense of comfort. Something of the kind Aidan couldn’t have given to either of them. He didn’t regret it. Instead, he was glad they had each other.

Aidan took out his phone from his pocket and turned the camera on. They both looked so beautiful. That moment was beautiful and worth capturing in a painting. This one would be something personal he’d cherish and never put up for sale.

He could feel it. It would be his best painting ever!

It got darker and Rick returned back to the present. Probably sensing Aidan’s presence, he looked in his direction and slowly, a sweet smile crept on his lips. “Hey,” he said breaking the silence.

“Hey.” Hearing Aidan’s voice, Bratty looked up too and jumped out of Rick’s lap. She ran up to him and began to meow between his legs. That’s the Bratty I know. He felt a tug in his heart when he picked her up and held her close to his chest.

Rick grinned. “How long have you been standing there?”

“Not too long.” He lied, as he petted Bratty’s head. She definitely appreciated the love. “I was planning to heat up some dinner now. So I thought I’d ask you. Are you hungry?”

The guy shook his head. “I’m starving,” he said looking sheepishly. The expression on his face made Aidan laugh out loud.

Welcome Jennifer Rose!

Jennifer is here with some sexy teasers for her latest release, Landon’s Desire. Sexy!

33145324Ex-cop Landon Kyle came to Boston to help a friend in need and eventually head up security at Pulse nightclub. Ready and willing to escape his nightmares once and for all, he packed his entire life into a single duffle bag and headed east. What he discovered when he arrived at Pulse was an equally appealing prospect, by the name of Carl Ward.

Landon had his sights set on the lead bartender, who happened to be in complete denial of his sexuality, but Landon would not be dissuaded in his pursuit. He vowed he would convince Carl to take a chance on him and ultimately win his heart. Could Carl be persuaded to follow his heart and realize the truth?

Carl Ward liked his cozy little life the way it was, his past and demons safely hidden behind the gruff exterior he had managed so well, then came Landon, big, burly and annoyingly sexy as hell to shake up his world.

What Carl believed to be all he needed, was about to be challenged by Landon’s Desire.

LD Teaser1

With his one elbow resting across the bar, Landon bit into an apple suggestively, allowing the juices to trickle down his chin and licking across his lips. He smiled brightly.

“Let me guess, you couldn’t sleep?” Landon asked.

“Restless,” Carl answered, with a scowl.

“I was having trouble sleeping too,” Landon said, his eyes moving to Carl’s bare chest. “You always clean half naked?”

“I wasn’t expecting an audience.”59214486

“I used to do the housework stark naked,” Landon laughed.

“And the reason I need to know this?” Carl asked.

Landon shrugged, “Visual effect.”

Carl narrowed his eyes as he walked past, he could feel Landon’s eyes on him as he walked into the kitchen and pulled a deep breath into his lungs to stop from heating any further.

“Carl, when are you going to admit you like me?” Landon whispered behind Carl’s back.

“I like you well enough,” Carl said, turning to face Landon, smelling the sweet scent of apple on his breath. “I just don’t like you that way.”

Landon tossed the partially eaten apple into the trash can and stepped into Carl’s space. “What way is that, Carl?”

Carl placed his hand on Landon’s chest, slightly fisting his t-shirt, holding him back. “I can’t say it enough, Landon…I’m not interested in you in that way.”

Landon grinned, pretending to wipe sweat from his brow. “Progress at last.”

“What the fuck are you saying?”

“I’m saying it’s nice to hear you say something other than those worn out words I’m not gay, which were getting fucking old.”

“But I’m not.”

Landon’s brows rose as he dropped his chin to his chest. “How can you be so sure?”

“This conversation is over. I’m not wasting my time trying to convince you that we aren’t going to be anything more than friends.” Carl snapped, shoving Landon back.

Landon’s large hand wrapped around the nape of Carl’s neck, yanking him forward and forcing their chests to collide. Carl looked into Landon’s eyes and saw the unmistakable glare of lust, his stomach tightened. Landon’s lips gently touched his with a cautious delay. When he was happy Carl wasn’t going to deck him, he pressed his lips tighter to Carl’s and closed his eyes, making it linger for several long seconds.  It was nothing too passionate or demanding, a smooth lingering kiss, enough to get a proper taste of what he was missing.

Carl grasped Landon’s hair at the back of his head and tugged, pulling them apart and staring for a few moments before shoving Landon to the side and storming from the kitchen.

“You liked it Carl, don’t fucking tell me you didn’t,” Landon yelled. “I could tell!”

M/M Romance

Shy and awkward Teo Wright, a brilliant young author, has met the man of his dreams in much older Michael, a widower, and father of three. The man has fired up his fantasies and refuses to let go. Discovering they are both single sets them on the road to forever.

“I want to wake up to this every morning.”

Dr. Michael Ashworth has been focused on his work for too many years and although now he is one of the best doctors in his field, it has been to the detriment of his family. But when Teo comes into his life, Michael knows the young man is his future. Teo has made him feel alive and whole again. However, Michael’s in-laws are not thrilled to find their ‘straight’ son-in-law, is in fact bisexual.

Dating a man is not the only issue threatening the life he and Teo are building together. Michael’s teenage son is also not a fan of his father having a boyfriend that is so much younger.

A rebellious teenager and bigoted relatives are hurdles Michael and Teo must overcome before they can find their forever, but nothing good ever comes easy… especially when there are kids to consider.

This man looked so sexy, too sexy, and Teo’s breath caught in his throat. He took a small step forward as Michael reached out, stepping right into his body.

“I hope coffee is code for getting to the nearest flat surface as quickly as possible,” Teo whispered breathily to Michael, trying to get even closer to his body.

He wasn’t usually so forward, but Michael had all his inhibitions on pause. Teo was five seconds away from going down on all fours, taking the position and begging Michael to mount him. He wasn’t sure where this was coming from, honestly. He so wasn’t that guy. He never hooked up on a first date. Not that he had an issue with anyone who did. It just wasn’t him, but with Michael, all the rules went out the window. The man had fried all his brain cells and kicked his libido up two hundred notches.

Michael took a step back, breath ragged. “Don’t think I don’t want to take you up on that offer, but that’s not why I wanted you here.”

“I know, Doc. If it was, I wouldn’t be here, and I wouldn’t be offering,” Teo replied. “I know it’s what everyone says, but I don’t do this. Ever… like, not at all. But it feels different with you.”

“I agree. It feels different because it is, but this part isn’t different for me,” Michael replied, a shameful look stealing across his face. “This is what I do. I don’t date… haven’t since my wife died. But I have slept with a few… okay, more than a few people. This isn’t that, and I want to start the right way. Whatever this is, happening here between us… I can honestly say I have never experienced such a depth of feeling before, and I don’t want to screw things up by skipping steps.”

Teo was tempted to ask if he was including his late wife when he said he had never experienced this depth of feeling, But he didn’t. He wasn’t sure if it was because it was not proper to ask or because he was worried he wouldn’t get the answer he hoped for.

“I understand, but like you said, this is different, so we both know that going in. Plus, in case you didn’t know. . . there are a lot of things we can do that wouldn’t be going all the way.” Teo emphasized the “going all the way” with air quotes.

“Oh! Now, do tell?” Michael practically purred.

“Well,” Teo said, moving back against Michael’s body, “we could.” As Michael leaned in to listen to what Teo was about to say, he took advantage and fused their lips together. Fuck. It got better every time. It was like having the perfect first kiss over and over—knowing what to expect but still being surprised.

Teo broke the kiss, breath ragged. “If you don’t want this to happen in your living room, I suggest you show me the way to your bedroom now before things become positively indecent.”

Michael gazed at him with what Teo wanted to describe as an adoring look, but hesitated in case he was seeing things with the haze of lust clouding everything. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to regret this tomorrow.”

“I’m very sure, Doc. I would like to see what those million-dollar hands are capable of.”

Michael looked at him with amusement written all over his face. “Million-dollar hands, huh?”

“I will admit I may have done some internet stalking.” Teo felt his face heat and ducked his head shyly. “What can I say, Doc? I was smitten from our first meeting, even when I thought you were unattainable. Made for some pretty vivid dreams, I might add.”

“Well, now. How about you tell me about these dreams, and I’ll see what I can do about making them a reality,” Michael replied, nipping Teo playfully on his neck. Teo groaned and purred at the same time. Michael couldn’t have been aware, but his neck was one of the most sensitive parts of his body. Teo loved when his partner kissed and nipped and grazed him. If he left marks behind, even better. It was like there was a straight line connecting his neck to his cock.
